MOVEMENT CLASSES AT THE HOLISTIC
SELF
CARE
CENTER
MOVEMENT PHILOSOPHY
Everything we do at The
HSC Center is directed at slow, intentional movement and
energy healing. The Holistic approach to health focuses on
the whole person and healing core issues - not just
reducing some symptoms. This approach is not only
economical but also essential for long-term health. Our
holistic professionals offer you a complementary
alternative to traditional exercise so that you can
actively take control of your own journey to total
wellness.
Because we believe strongly in body/mind/spirit
connection, the variety of classes offered all bring you
the same core benefits in addition to their specific
values. We encourage you to nurture yourself with the
classes that best suit your self-care personality. We also
invite you to step out of your comfort zone and try others
that may be new to you. Our family of well-trained and
certified professionals is here to help you realize your

A Brazilian Martial Art which incorporates dance,

capoeira that are clearly distinct. One is called
Angola

particular attention to the rituals and tradition of
capoeira, in particular the disguise as some
type of dance. The other style is Regional
(pronounced 'heh-jeeh-oh-nahl'), known
for its fluid acrobatic play, where technique and
strategy are the key points. Both styles are marked
by the use of attacks and counter-attacks, and
use groundwork extensively, as well as sweeps, kicks,
and head butts.

Meditation/Visualization
|
Kripalu
Yoga
|
|
Relaxation, stress relief, serenity-these are just a few of the positive side effects of meditation. Meditation is simply becoming aware of your breath. Sounds easy right? You will learn how to do exactly that and finally get the answer to the question you've been asking yourself "Am I doing it right?" Visualization is incorporated by using your imagination to picture a peaceful place in your mind.
|
Kripalu means “compassion, mercy, bringer of
bliss”. We enjoy moving into stillness. Although
alignment is important to the flow of energy,
Kripalu is more concerned with “feeling” rather
than “doing”. Each class will consist of a
centering, breath work, core strengtheners,
postures, relaxation and meditation. Some of your
classes will flow. Others will focus creatively on
the breakdown of particular postures.
